Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to Resell Clerk ("we", "us", "our") and the website located at https://resellclerk.com (the "Site"). Resell Clerk is currently offered as a free tool and is not operated as a registered business entity.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you.

1. What Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with the Site, we may collect:

We may also draw inferences from the above, for example inferring which features you use most, in order to improve the Site.

We do not seek to collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act (including health information, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, criminal record, and biometric information). If you provide sensitive information to us, for example in a Feedback or Support message, we will only use it for the purpose you provided it.

2. Anonymity and Pseudonymity

Where it is lawful and practicable, you have the option of trying the Site anonymously. Guest mode lets you use the Evaluation Tool, Sales Tracker, and Consumables features without creating an account or providing any personal information.

If you choose to create an account, or contact us for support, we will need identifying details such as your name and email address to provide that service.

3. How We Collect Personal Information

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use the following categories:

We don't currently show a separate cookie consent banner. Necessary cookies are set automatically because the Site cannot function without them, for example, staying signed in. You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, though this may affect Site functionality, particularly staying signed in.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4), provided by Google LLC and deployed via Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the Site, for example which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and approximate location derived from IP address. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We also use Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation, to help us understand how visitors interact with the Site, including clicks, scrolling, and session recordings. Microsoft's handling of this data is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

6. How We Use Your Personal Information

7. Direct Marketing

We only send marketing communications, such as product updates or newsletters, if you have opted in via the checkbox shown when you create an account, or if you later ask to be added. This is consistent with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe option. You can also opt out at any time by contacting us via Feedback and Support (see Section 17). Opting out of marketing communications does not stop account-related messages, such as sign-in confirmations.

8. Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to:

We do not sell your personal information.

Optional Data Sharing

If you opt in via Settings > Share Data, a copy of your uploaded eBay report is shared with us to help us test and improve the app's report-parsing logic. Buyer name, username, city, region, and postcode are automatically stripped from this copy before it is stored. This is entirely optional, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings.

Overseas Disclosure

Some providers we use, including Clerk, Neon, Google, and Microsoft, store and process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, we take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, as required under APP 8.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These include secure hosting through Vercel and Neon, encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access controls.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Breaches

We maintain procedures for responding to actual or suspected data breaches. If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to affected individuals, we will notify those individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

11. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as you keep your account active. If you delete your account, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we are required to retain it by law.

12. Your Rights and Choices

To make a request, contact us via Feedback and Support (see Section 17). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We aim to respond within a reasonable period, generally within 30 days.

13. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first via Feedback and Support (see Section 17) so we can look into it. We will aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): website www.oaic.gov.au, phone 1300 363 992.

14. Third-Party Websites

The Site may link to websites and platforms operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of those sites. We recommend you review their privacy policies before providing personal information to them. A link does not imply our endorsement.

15. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The current version will always be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

17. Contact Us

The quickest way to reach us is through Feedback and Support inside the app. Select "Support" as the type of enquiry and describe your request. You'll need to be signed in to submit one. If you do not have an account, or would rather not sign in, you can also email daniel@dsxdigital.com.au.
